Doctors bring us all sort of reports. Some of them might make statements of the number of days that they think you have left on this earth. Others bring news of cancer or life threatening conditions. When we hear this, fear grips our heart. We think of all the things that we still want to do and we think of what will happen to our kids. The Word wants to comfort us in the midst of the bad news or bad reports.
They will have no fear of bad news;
their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the LORD (Psalm 112: 7).
In spite of these reports we will keep our eyes on God. We will not fear the terror (things that frightens us) by night nor the arrows (attacks) by day. Our hope and trust is in the Lord. He is our Helper, Comforter, Rock and strength.
You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day, (Psalm 91: 5)
We not all equally strong or have equal measures of faith but we all have a measure of faith. Praise the Lord. We can therefore stand in the gap for friends and family who are in need of healing. We can pray on their behalf. It is good that they can pray for themselves but unity in prayer is also very important. Jesus stands in the gap for us daily therefore we can stand in the gap for those in need of prayer.
When we intercede we would
- Praise and Worship the Lord for his goodness, whilst counting our many blessings. Also praise the Lord for what he has done in the life of the person who needs healing.
- Pray for forgiveness of sin. We lay down all our sins including the things that we have omitted to do. We pray for sins of words and deeds.
- Confession of salvation: We thank the Lord for saving us, for loving us and for the wonderful plans that he has for us. We bless the name of the Lord and that he died on the cross to save us. We thank the Lord for his death and resurrection.
- Proclaim and confess healing. We proclaimed that we are healed by his stripes and that he sent his Word to heal us.
Prayer for the sick: [ use this to prayer for the sick]
Father God we confess in unity that you are worthy of our praise. You are King of Kings and Lord of Lords in our lives according to Rev 19: 16. You keep the heavens and skies in orbit and you made us. According to Gen 1: 31 you said that it was very good – your works of your hands were very good. We are fearfully and wonderfully made according to Psalm 139 and we put our life and trust in you, You are our Lord, strength and Rock.
I believe according to Matt 8 that you are willing and you are able to heal us. I declare that you sent you Word to heal us. We confess that we will live according to Psalm 118: 17.
Lord, we believe in you for our healing. We will look for progressive healing daily.
I proclaim that I will confess the healing scriptures daily and I know that my measure of faith will be sufficient. I know that the Lord will grant me the desires of my heart according to Ps 37: 4 – which is the restoration of health. Lord I believe that you will show your glory according to Ezekiel 38 & 39.
I rebuke the spirit of despair, infirmity and hopelessness in the life of the sick and the frail. I bind every evil spirit, spirits of bondage, hopelessness and despair en break every curse in Jesus Mighty name. They will not be permitted to reign and rule in the our lives– in Jesus Mighty name.
I loose all spiritual blessings in the heavenly realm according to Eph 1: 3 and proclaim the sick healed in Jesus name. I confess fruit and gifts of the spirit manifested in our lives so that your glory Lord may shine through us.
We praise you for the blood. We praise you because we can do all things, not by might but by your Spirit. Amen and Amen.
